Introduction

The Friends of Presqu’ile Park and Ontario Parks are committed to providing our visitors with first class opportunities to learn about and appreciate Presqu’ile Provincial Park’s natural and cultural heritage.  Visitors can learn about the Park remotely through the resources provided on this webpage, which will be an expanding source of information as time goes on.  However, it’s so much better to visit the Park and experience our world first hand!  Certainly, take advantage of the resources on this site to prepare for your visit, and feel free to download and print out the maps and publications provided here.

Once in the Park, visitors can continue with their exploration of the Park on their own through our various self-guided facilities, including interpretive trails, various plaques and signs found throughout the park, or by dropping into one of our two Visitor Centres.  Don’t be shy about talking to the Visitor Centre attendants who would love to discuss Presqu’ile and what you have discovered about the Park.  Even better, consider taking in one of our personally-presented programs and get first hand knowledge from a Park Interpreter about what they love about Presqu’ile.

Evening slide shows, hikes, bike hikes, campfire sing-alongs, and children’s programmes are all regularly scheduled through the summer.  In addition to summer programming, we have limited programs scheduled on weekends in June and on our special event bird-watching weekends in March and May.  We also offer curriculum-based programming to school groups as staffing allows through the school year.  Additional information on our various educational program and events is outlined within this section.

All our activities are free but visitors are required to have a valid park pass on their vehicle while in the Park.  Anyone camping already has a valid pass.  Day pass prices vary from $9.00 to $12.00 per vehicle depending on the season.  Seasonal day passes are also available and are a great deal if you plan on visiting Provincial Parks on a regular basis in the spring, summer and fall as the one pass is valid for all Provincial Parks in Ontario.
