A major project for 2024 has now been completed. The Friends of Presqu’ile provided the funding for a protective pergola over the teaching platform at the pond area of the Marsh Boardwalk. A generous donation was provided by a long-time supporter and Life Member, Audrey Wilson. This teaching platform is named Audrey’s Place in her honour.

The Discovery Program will be able to conduct pond studies no matter how warm or wet the day. The School Group Program has already made use of the facility during outings this fall.

The pergola will provide shade from the sun and shelter from rain and snow for all Marsh Boardwalk users. Picnic tables provide a perfect spot for a rest and refueling. Be sure to check out this sturdy shelter on your next trip to the Marsh Boardwalk.
