The official opening of the Jobes’ Woods Trail took place following the 2014 AGM and BBQ. It had been announced at the AGM that the John Cole Award (presented to the volunteer of the year) would go to the team of volunteer builders who donated more than 5000 hours of their time on the Jobes’ Woods Trail project. Over 800 metres of boardwalk were built in the refurbishment of the trail, the majority of which runs through mud and swamp.
Bill Wilson, team leader, collected the award on behalf of the twenty-six volunteers. Twelve of the team were present on the day and each of them was presented with a certificate at the official opening of the refurbished Trail. They were sincerely thanked by Park Superintendent, Rob Cunningham.
