Greetings Friends of Presqu'ile supporters!

Here are some short updates on where we stand after another busy summer at Presqu'ile:

Financial Situation: As of this newsletter, our financial position remains strong. Our board of directors recently conducted its financial review against our budget, and while there are still many expenditures to come, we expect that we should finish the year within budget.

Donations: Various donations have been made throughout the year, none bigger than a single donation of over $30,000. Cumulatively, we have received over $38,000 in donations from members and non-members in 2024. It is very gratifying to hear the story on why each individual has contributed.

Membership: Our memberships total almost 150 families this year. A strong organization is reflected in its membership. Out of 27 Friends organizations around Ontario, we are one of only a few Friends groups that exceeds 100 members. Another good indicator of how strong an organization we have.

Fundraising: Not only does our fundraising support the many activities we undertake, it is also a fun thing to do. We had a successful raffle this year in which we raised over $5000. "Let’s Go Camping" was the theme and three camp sites, along with a 2025 Ontario Park Pass, were awarded to the lucky winners.

The Barbecue Team did another great job at special events and on Saturdays throughout July and August. The weather didn’t cooperate on several occasions which reflected in three lost days of revenue. In the end we were still able to generate close to $4000 in revenue. 

Volunteers:  The strength of our organization is attributed to the many volunteers who give up their personal time to assist in various activities Thank you to everyone who has volunteered in some form or another this year.

We always welcome new volunteers throughout the year. We still have several opportunities this fall to assist the park personnel with their environmental projects.
