As most of you know, the Marsh Boardwalk has been closed since 2019 when severe spring flooding caused major damage. Last year, the Friends launched a very successful fund-raising campaign to Raise the Boardwalk.
A small crew of dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly over the summer and early fall to stabilize the boardwalk and raise it to a safer level. Unfortunately, the team discovered more structural damage, necessitating additional repairs to the Boardwalk.
COVID restrictions have meant that volunteers are not able to work on this project; but Park staff have taken on the challenge of completing the necessary work. They are making excellent progress installing new stabilizing posts. If things go according to plan, the Boardwalk should re-open by mid-May.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we complete this massive project.
