Despite the weather, the calendar says we are heading into winter and the camping season is coming to an end at Presqu’ile. All campsites must be vacated on Tuesday October 10th at the latest. Thanksgiving weekend is going to be pretty busy. All electrical sites are reserved, but there are still first come first serve tent sites available.
Just because the campgrounds are closed does not mean the park is closed. We remain open 365 days a year and the park remains a wonderful day use destination. In addition to the lake views some wildflowers are still hanging on in the fields and pannes. Leaf colour has not really changed much, late October and early November is usually peak here, with gold predominating. We will have to see how much colour we get though, it has been a very dry summer and fall after our wet spring and dry weather usually means browner leaves.
As long as the weather stays nice there will be monarchs drifting through the park. On Oct 5th several dozen could be seen along the day use and campground shoreline.
Please note that unlike previous years, our day use fee stays the same all year long - $14.50/vehicle.
