Operations Team Update – Fall 2026
By Brent Barnes, Chair of Operations
The Operations Team has been very busy the past several months. First, earlier this summer our volunteers replaced almost 300 feet of rail boards on the foot bridges at Jobes’ Woods Trail. Maintaining almost 13 kilometers of natural paths and foot bridges in the park is a major undertaking for the Friends’ Operations Team.
Secondly, a dedicated group of volunteers has been busy reconstructing the waterfowl viewing structure adjacent to the lighthouse. This structure replaces the old building that was erected in 1993 and is scheduled to be completed later this fall in preparation for next spring’s Waterfowl Weekend.
All in all, it has been a very busy and rewarding summer for operations volunteers.
