Garage to Greatness Update – Fall 2026

The Friends Chair of Operations and myself met Presqu’ile’s Park Superintendent in mid-September to go over where the project currently stands. The architectural stamped drawings and engineered reports have been completed and received. Revised construction costs have been estimated but will namely depend on how the tendering process is structured.
The “Supplier Selection” within the Friends Policies and Procedures, outlines the guidelines to be taken when it comes to the purchase of goods and services exceeding $10,000, a criterion which this project meets. Suppliers will be selected based on overall value of the goods and services offered, not necessarily on the lowest price. Generally, at least three suppliers must be considered when tendering out the work. A single source supplier selection must be approved by the Board of Directors. Quotes have been requested from multiple potential suppliers.
We are hopeful that construction will begin late this year with an eye on completion in the Spring of 2027.
