Memorial Tree Planting Program
“Let trees tell your family’s story. There is no better way to honour the special people in our lives than with the enduring majesty and beauty of a park-grown tree. The complexities of life present a multitude of milestones to be celebrated… each one most fittingly honoured with a tree.”

NOTICE: As of October 2026, our Memorial Tree Planting program is
ON HOLD until further notice.
At this time, we do not have plans for a spring 2027 planting.

The Friends of Presqu’ile Park are pleased to provide the public with an opportunity to plant a tree in Presqu’ile Provincial Park to honour someone special, to remember a loved one, or to mark a milestone event.
Donors will make a minimum donation of $100 and will receive an income tax receipt for the full amount. A deciduous (eg. maple) or coniferous (eg. pine) tree can be chosen, based on availability. Trees planted will come from the park’s own nursery, grown from seeds collected in Presqu’ile. The trees planted will help regenerate Presqu’ile’s forest.
During the third weekend in April and the third weekend in October, memorial trees will be planted in the presence of the donors. Tree planting will be performed by park staff, who will choose the planting location. As the memorial trees will be part of a natural forest, they will not be labelled and they will not be replaced if they die.

Planting Ceremonies
Planting ceremonies are scheduled twice annually on the third weekend in April and the third weekend in October. Donors are invited to attend at separate times during the day and are accompanied by a Friends of Presqu’ile volunteer and a Park Staff member.
